The London West Hollywood at Beverly Hills consistently ranks as one of
the most luxurious hotels in Los Angeles, and so I decided to check it
out to see exactly how it has bounced back since the pandemic.
A strong recovery in travel is evident at this hotel with leisure
travel, buisness travel and events that have returned. The hotel boasts
that it’s seeing pre-COVID business levels. When I was here over one
weekend, I saw a Bar Mitzvah and a movie screening take place here.
As domestic travel is up this summer of 2022 and Los Angeles is one of
the hottest spots to travel to, this is bound to be a busy summer for
The London West Hollywood with its prime location.
Its location is ideal if you’re looking to walk around West Hollywood,
and Beverly Hills is walkable from here too. In fact, the famous Rodeo
Drive is only about a two-mile walk (one way). And you’re about a
three-mile distance from Hollywood Blvd here. What I really loved about
this hotel is that there is a car service it provides for a two-mile
radius after 3 p.m. It’s on a first-come, first-serve basis but can help
you avoid an extra rideshare cost.
Inside the hotel, the amenities really made this hotel stand out. The
rooftop pool has incredible views of Los Angeles, and there’s a
life-size chess board outside in the courtyard that will have you
feeling like Beth Harmon from “The Queen’s Gambit.” Free continental
breakfast, coffee and Icelandic water bottles are all provided for you
as well.
Perhaps it should not be considered a perk, but the hotel is currently
offering a $25 hotel credit for each day that housekeeping services are
declined. This is a part of a “Go Green” effort and could potentially
save you some money in the process if you’re not keen on or need the
daily housekeeping.
In a further effort to reduce the carbon footprint of each occupied
room, the hotel purchases carbon offsetting credits through Cool Effect,
a nonprofit organization that works with businesses to reduce greenhouse
gases.
I stayed in a standard suite with a view of Kaley Cuoco’s “Flight
Attendant” billboard staring right at me. From the balcony to the
bedroom and even the bathroom, it felt like there was a lot of space to
relax away from the hustle of Hollywood.
As for the price of a standard suite at The London West Hollywood,
there’s a range from $500 to $800 a night this summer but the price is
also dependent on when you want to go. In order to get the best rate,
the hotel recommends that you look as far in advance as possible as a
large amount of its bookings come 14-21 days prior to arrival, which
drives up the rates for short-term bookings. You may also get a better
rate if you book weekdays (Sunday to Thursday). With the current
high-drive market and short-haul demand, you should know that weekends
are busier than ever.
If you’re looking to stay here during this summer, there is an
“Afternoon Tea” with a live harpist and a new menu of tea sandwiches,
pastries and scones. The teas come from the Rare Tea Company of London.
And if you’re lucky enough to stay here for the 4th of July weekend,
you’ll end up feeling like a Hollywood star because you’ll have
exclusive access as a hotel guest to see the firework displays across
the city from its rooftop pool.
Looking to visit at another time? You’re also in luck, because this pool
is year-round friendly
